CAROLINA BEACH, NC -– According to Carolina Beach Town Manager Tim Owens, Freeman Park on the North End Of Pleasure Island is back open. Freeman Park has been closed since the evening of Wednesday, September 1 due to high surf conditions caused by Hurricane Earl and Tropical Storm Fiona.
Freeman Park is very susceptible to high tides. During extreme tides the ocean reaches the dunes leaving little if any area for safe passage or camping.
